Mary set a training course for me at Rockcrusher. I jogged around it. It was fun. I felt like I was moving relatively smoothly through the terrain.

running 10:00 [2]

Jogging to/from the start.

orienteering 15:00 [2]

A random sprint-y night orienteering course on West Campus. The random part course resulted in me running across the rough open area 3x. I wouldn't normally do that. Fun and short.

rowing 20:00 [1]

Row, row.

We had enough snow/ice on the roads that I didn't bike to work. I think I learned a useful lesson last winter (banging your head along a sidewalk is a good way to learn a lesson...and a good thing I had my helmet on).

I also took a day off from orienteering. So, no forward movement on the 31 day challenge, but probably a needed day away from running. If the roads had been ok, I might have put in a some bike orienteering for the challenge.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. The trip home was in some light, misty rain/snow stuff.

Kartlek at Clinton with the headlamp.

Some snow falling.

This was the first time in the 31 day challenge when concentrating felt like a struggle.

Jogging to/from the Daisy Hill map.

I put in an honest effort for a 1.8 km sprint course on the Daisy Hill map (which is still not done). Fun, but I'm not yet recovered from a cold and breathing was a bit uncomfortable.

PTOC January score event at Shawnee Mission Park.

I had a hard time sleeping last night. I woke up several times, coughing. I was tired when I got up this morning. When I did a little jogging before the event I couldn't keep my heart rate below about 155. Maybe I should have just skipped the event.

I decided I'd try to keep a steady effort and move as smoothly as possible. It seemed to go well.

running 10:00 [2]

Jogging around to warm up. Felt ok but HR was unusually high.
