orienteering 1:00:00 [3] ***

I test ran a course that Fritz set at Rockcrusher. It was physical - hilly with some junky forest. I wasn't moving very well, but I managed to keep moving.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute.

rowing 20:00 [1]

I felt kind of crummy and probably should have just taken a nap, but instead I did enough to work up a decent sweat.

Note

I came across some photos from a summer camp with orienteering at Rock Bridge State Park in Columbia, MO.

They are using the old orienteering map:

This might help inspire me to get some folks together to make a good map of that park.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute with a stop for the Mayor's holiday party. The temp had dropped by the time I left and it was pretty cold for the trip home - I worked hard to stay warm.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute.

running 30:00 [2]

Slow headlamp jog on the trails at Clinton. I expected to see some trailhawks, but they didn't seem to be out. My legs are still worn out from Sunday.

I also read Bill James' analysis of Rick Perry. The entire essay is worth a read. Here's the concluding paragraph:

"The real lesson of the Rick Perry campaign is that the Bill McKay scenario is a cynical myth, at least at the level of the Presidency; you can’t actually make some vacuous random alpha male into a credible candidate, at all. They couldn’t do it with John Edwards—although they came closer—and they couldn’t do it with Rick Perry. The system is not so easy to manipulate, after all."

Bill McKay, for those who don't know....

Row, row.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. My legs felt tired and sore in the morning, but felt better by the trip home.

I also had a SWTF meeting. Here's the LJWorld coverage:

orienteering race 2:25:00 [3] ***

The Trot XV. I started slow and steady and was doing ok until about the second water stop. From then on, I was moving really slowly. I worked pretty hard (still slow, though) to keep from being caught from behind in the last 2 km.

Here's the course: http://twitter.com/#!/okansas/status/1459484538963...

Fun and just about perfect weather for orienteering.
