orienteering race 17:55 [4] *** 2.86 km (6:16 / km) +45m 5:48 / km
ahr:168 max:178 14c

PTOC sprint at Watkins Mill. I enjoyed the chance to run in an area that was brand new to me. The relatively cool temps and low humidity were very nice. I struggled with breathing, but otherwise felt like I was moving pretty well. My right calf was a little strange.

After the race we went to Wabbash BBQ in Excelsior Springs. Good company and good food.

running 10:00 [2]

Jogging to warm up.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. The storm came through while I was eating breakfast and had stopped by the time I was on the road. Nice. The trip home wasn't as lucky. I got a bit wet. I'd have made it easily if I'd left work on time. I stayed late working on a bunch of data on invoices (which is actually a bit interesting).

running 20:00 [2]

Short run with a trip to the grocery store.

Note

Today was walk-to-work-day. I put in a good 2 hours of walking. The trip to work was fine, a storm was heading towards town. It brought clouds, thunder and a little bit of cooler air, but no rain. The trip home was wet....not because of rain but because the heat and humidity made it quite sweaty.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. I pushed a little bit on the trip home and worked up quite a sweat. I was working late, attending the Solid Waste Task Force meeting.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. Hot and windy for the trip home.

rowing 20:00 [1]

Row, row.

I think my calf is ok.

Note

Pretty much a day of rest. I was at the Big 12 Internal Audit Conference all day. Then when I got home, I mowed and rested.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Biking from home to/from the trail head at Clinton. It felt good to get out before it got too warm.

running 25:00 [2]

A short jog on the trails at Clinton. I expected my calf to feel worse, but it felt better than it did yesterday. That's very positive.

I'd have run a little bit more except I met a woman with two young kids who had wandered a bit and were a bit unsure about where they were. I walked them back to the trail head and pointed them in the right direction. The kids, who looked to me to be about 4 each had little Camelbaks.
