Jogging around on the trails from the Rockhaven area. I really felt slow and had no strength when the trail was a little rough or uphill. Maybe it was just the warmth and sun.
Note
After running I did an hour of so of fieldchecking.
I think Rockhaven was the first IOF standard map made in Kansas (in 1980). The area is pretty nice. The forest isn't special, but the trail network is dense. I don't know if we'd have any issues getting permission to use the area for a competition. The trails and campground are built for horse riding.
Work commute. After some generally cold and dreary weather, today was warm and sunny. Weather changes seem to bring out nutty drivers. That's what happened today, too.
Planned to jog a bit when I got home but changed my mind when I decided to do a bit of yard work.
Row, row. I had the TV on and watched the Royals get the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th inning...but they didn't manage to get any runs across.
I ran on a new section of basemap (laserscan 2.5 meter contours + lutning image) of the area just west of the previous Rockcrusher basemap. The basemap now covers the area from the dam to Rockhaven. My plan was to run the trails and use the GPS to rough-in the trails. The trails get much more distinct and used as you get closer to Rockhaven. Since the park is heavily used by horses, that means the trails can be a mess, too.
Before the run I watched the Kansas game. What I like about sports is that the outcome isn't known in advance. The uncertainty makes it fun. Today's game was fun to watch. I just wish Kansas had won.
