PTOC event at Camp Jayhawk. The area and map are new. The forest was a bit thick. It was thorny, too.
I ran reasonably well. Physically, I'm not especially strong these days. But the effort felt good. I drifted a little a couple of times. Two weak routes. 2-3 I changed my mind after I saw Gene ahead of me taking the route I'd initially planned. I should have just stuck behind Gene, but I couldn't resist the chance to test the routes in real time. 14-15 I took a chance that there would be an old trail or even road along the stream. It turned out to be really rough and slow.
I've yet to see full results, but Matt B. got me by 23 seconds. It is fun to see the young guys improving. But it is more fun to see them improving and finish a little ahead of them. Training should help.
