other 30:00 [2]

Shuffling around Holcom on my skis. Loads of fun. Tiring despite being such a short amount of time.

I also spent 25 minutes shoveling snow on the driveway and sidewalk. I'll have to repeat tomorrow morning.

1 point for alternative training.

Note

I read this today:

"Kyse on analyysikonseptista: Kuinka kauan kestää rastiympyrän reunalta rastille ja toisaalta rastilta ulos rastiympyrästä kohti seuraavaa. Nerokasta!"

According to Google translation, that's:

"It is an analytical concept: How long it takes to cross from the edge of the circle and the next control out of control to rastiympyrästä towards the next. Brilliant!"

That's pretty cool to see. Via: http://www.meronen.net/?p=407

Note

A few minor aches and pains have convinced me to take a day off rather than row, row.

Just enough strange icy/snowy stuff on the streets to keep me off my bike for the work commute. The roads should be ok for biking to work tomorrow a.m.m but the forecast calls for 4-6 inches of snow in the late afternoon/early evening.

An earned day off = 1 point.

running 1:05:00 [2]

Running at Rockcrusher. I jogged for 15 minutes, then fieldchecked for a bit over 90 minutes and then jogged another 50 minutes.

Right as I started mapping the rain began to fall. It was a cold, but light, rain. It stopped after about 20 minutes. The rain and the temp of almost 40 meant the snow was melting quickly. It also meant that my feet were wet, but not really cold until the last 10 minutes of mapping and the next 20 minutes of running.

2 points = a run plus in the terrain

running 1:30:00 [2]

I ran in the terrain at Rockcrusher. I carried the map (the version with OL laser lutning images) and checked out each blob that looked like it'd be a cedar tree. I've decided to map the large distinct cedar trees. I'm not usually a fan of mapping trees in the forest, but I decided that it'd be worth testing.

The snow made running a bit slow - even slower than my usual pace. Running in the snow is fun.

I'm wondering who has been doing all of the trail maintenance out at Rockcrusher the last month or so. They've cut some of the vegetation around the trails (especially the young cedars) and have added a bunch of blazes.

Note

3 points. Run + terrain + 90 minutes.
