Note

Spent most of the day in a hotel conference room. That is draining. Among other things, we decided our next meeting will be in Texas in late February.

A short test ride of the pedal hopper. The city doesn't currently allow the PH to go on Mass St. I think the concern is that it moves to slowly. But the guy who owns the PH says that it goes faster than they thought and he'd like to be able to use it on the downhill sections of Mass (e.g. south bound from 8th to 9th). So a lawyer and the City Clerk went for a test ride and I tagged along. It was pretty nice.

Work commute. Mary called right at the end of the day and suggested meeting downtown for dinner at Esquina. So we did.

Row, row.

Work commute. I worked a lot today. The good is that I got a lot done. The bad is that I'm worn out (mentally mostly).

I downloaded the new version of OL Laser. If you've got some raw lidar data and can make sense of Swedish, you should check it out:

I'll credit myself with some biking. I biked to/from the event, put out all the controls by bike and picked up most of the controls by bike.

We had a good turnout and the event seemed to be well received. I don't think any of the students showed up (though one would have if church hadn't run long). We had a good school group from Shawnee Heights (a rural district between Topeka and Lawrence).

I had a nice chat with McCleary. I hadn't seen him in a few years. He seemed pleased to see Eelgrassman orienteering.

After everyone was in, it was time for the PTOC summer series prizes. Mary and I won. The prizes were brownies. Nice. PTOC gave prizes for the top 3. The Joneski and Barret families took all of the prizes (though I think there were enough brownies for everyone).
