PTOC at HCC. Fun course - lots of controls and lots of variety. Some rough woods, but not too terrible.

I was feeling pretty good and motivated to have a clean run. I ran pretty well - pushed a bit too hard on one leg and lost a little time as I recovered; ran a bit too easy in a couple of spots, too.

Pete was there. But I didn't see him. Gene was there, too. But I didn't see him.

rowing 20:00 [2]

Long day - started with a breakfast Rotary presentation. The part of my job where I talk to groups isn't the most stressful part of my job, but it is stressful. I'm getting better at it,...I think...

Did a bit of rowing - actually worked fairly hard. My ribs feel pretty good when exercising (still hurts to try to sleep, though).

running 50:00 [2]

Ran on the river trails. Felt ok. Nice day to be out. The days are getting long enough that I don't need a lamp. Sad.

In the basement...doing a little something to get moving.

My left ankle = stiff + swollen. Ribs are pretty good.

running 10:00 [2]

Jogging around to warm up. My legs felt tired but not as bad as I feared. My ankle was quite stiff and I ran with the Active Ankle.

Race at Cleveland Dam.

The setting was amazing - blue skies, mountains in the background, huge trees, bits of old snow here and there. Really nice.

My race was less than amazing. I boomed the second control (looks like I lost a good 2:15). The rest of the race was better, but I was behind in the map reading the whole time and was running cautiously (which was probably because I was a bit tired, my ankle was sore, and it was hard to push knowing that I'd boomed so much, so soon).

After the race, we had to get back home, so we missed the last two events.

Thanks to GVOC for putting on a great weekend of orienteering.
