running 20:00 [1]

2 x ~ 10 minutes of running to warm up before each race.

Chicago middle distance M40 at Busse Woods. It took me 400 meters (and a good 6 minutes!) to understand the map. After that things worked pretty well. Fun.

Sprint at Chicago Busse Woods.

Buckley started ahead of me and I told the starter, "I'll give him at least 2 minutes so I don't see him in the forest." The starter said something like, "oh 2 minutes, you won't see Buckley."

I caught up to Buckley at about the half way point. Apparently Eric had been making some mistakes. I don't know where he went from 6, but he passed me on the way to the last control.

Fun sprint. Legs shot by the end of the day.

running 45:00 [3]

Jogging at PNS. Saw a lot of turkeys out there.

running 20:00 [2]

Easy jog around the neighborhood - felt good.

running 40:00 [2]

Easy jogging at PNS.

Near the end I stopped and chatted with a couple who I see once a week or so. They hike around the park and we also exchange "hi"s. It turns out they walk in the park 6 days a week and have donated one of the benches along the trail (which has their names Wilburn and Venietta engraved on a plaque attached to the bench).

orienteering 1:15:00 [2]

Shuffled around on the map at Heartland, checking locations and legs for the upcoming PTOC training camp.

I wore the knee brace on my right knee. It might have made a bit of difference in how I felt running. I'll try it for the next few runs.

Warm out there today.
