cycling 30:00 [1]

A post-breakfast ride on the trainer.

running 1:05:00 [2]

Jogging on the big hill at Wyandotte. In just the first 25 minutes, the weather went from sun and heavy humidity, to wind and cold rain, back to warm and humid. The rain felt good.

Note

I spent some time today thinking and planning for a Haskell campus sprint map. I'm leaning toward a base map based on the city contours and latest air photos. I'll use the Haskell GIS campus map to get the buildings and most of the sidewalks and roads. I should go to Haskell sometime this weekend and check out the terrain (I haven't run on the Haskell campus in a good 15+ years).

running 30:00 [2]

Went jogging on the trails at PNS on the way home from work. My legs felt great. But, 30 minutes was enough.

There was a big, dead turkey next to the trail on the rocky hill. Yuck.

A very easy day.

running 55:00 [2]

Jogging at Wyandotte. I ran the nearly overgrown trail between the bottom of the big hill and the gravel road below the dam - picked up a good dozen ticks on that short stretch of trail. Yuck. Peggy might say, "Ticks! Oooh, ick."

I saw a couple of guys at a place just outside the park where there is an active illegal dump site. I figured they must be dumping. Much as I'd like to see dumpers confronted. I'm not anxious to confront them myself. So, I turned around. A few minutes later, I saw the two guys heading off towards the train tracks with a couple of bows. Maybe they were hunting illegally? Or maybe dumping? Or maybe both?

A little time on the trainer (while Mary was doing some weights).

Easy run with Gene on the mountain bike trails at Perry Lake. I hadn't been there in a few years. They've built a bunch more trails.

Gene carried the sketchy trail map. I carried the sketchy USGS topo.

Fun.
