cycling 30:00 [1]

Began the day with some easy time on the trainer.

running 40:00 [2]

After the PTOC fieldchecking clinic at HCC, I jogged around the area a bit.

running 25:00 [2]

PNS is more or less on the way home from work. So, I stopped and shuffled around a bit.

I had a chance to look for the white squirrel at the end of my run. You might want to check out the video.

running 1:00:00 [2]

Moderatly hilly at PNS.

My leg felt ok. When I woke up yesterday, my left calf was stiff (maybe "gubb vader"). I suspected that it was from running with an odd stride, favoring my left leg, the day before. So, yesterday was a rest day. This morning, my leg felt fine.

No luck in spotting the white squirrel.

cycling 30:00 [1]

A bit on the trainer when I got home.

running 1:15:00 [2]

Knee swollen but not too bad. A day off probably would have been smarter than jogging slowly at PNS.

I made it a moderately hilly route. The highlight, by far, was...seeing the legendary white squirrel! Unfortunately, by the time I'd gotten my camera out of the fanny pack, the squirrel was out of sight. I got a good look at the beast. I'm pretty sure it is just a prematurely gray squirrel that look white against the dark forest floor.

running 25:00 [2]

Jogging around to warm up.

running 15:00 [4]

I ran the Bonner Park test loop in 15:03.

I wore my light knee brace and was glad that the knee didn't give me any real trouble (a little swelling and a little stiffness, but I ran without thinking about it).

I ran a PR, but it was not a very good effort. I struggled with the pace and ran a bit too hard in the middle, paying for it on the last half when I slowed a bit. The PR was almost certainly due to nice weather (mid 70s and comfortable with a bit of wind).

orienteering 1:15:00 [2] ***

An amazing day today -- 75, low humidity, clear blue sky, roadside sunflowers in bloom, old Prince songs on the radio. It brought back memories of orienteering in the mid 80s (I could imagine Karan K. complaining about the music).

I ran around on the not-yet-finished Mount Oread map. I think it'll make for some interesting sprint orienteering.

I took a very bad step near the end and hyperextended my left knee. Some discomfort, some swelling, but it didn't feel like any bone and/or ligament damage, so it should be fine.
