running 20:00 [2]

Warming up for the race.

orienteering race 45:00 [4] ***
ahr:172 spiked:15/

Middle distance champs. I ran M21.

I had a decent race. The most time I lost was when I fell and then walked for a while until I felt a bit better. I moved pretty slowly but had a reasonably clean run (on a course where a bunch of people who are better than me did some stupid stuff)..

Interesting orienteering and terrain. It felt like a lot of variety.

running 35:00 [2]

Slept very well last night (catching up on the deficit).

I stopped at PNS on the way home from work.

running 10:00 [4]

3 x 3:20 old man L.A.M. intervals at an honest effort. I was on the flat trails. It felt good, better than expected.

running 25:00 [2]

Perfect conditions for a good run -- upper 40s and light mist. I was psyched.

But, 15 minutes into the run I felt like a zombie. The lack of sleep was enough to overwhelm my enthusiam to run in the nice weather. My &##!@ ribs kept me from getting much sleep last night until I finally got up and took some pain meds. Tonight I'll take something before I go to bed.

cycling 30:00 [1]

Just some easy time on the trainer.

I'm getting fed up with being sore all the time.

cycling 45:00 [1]

On the trainer. Not sure how this felt.

running 35:00 [2]

Easy jogging on the river trail in Lawrence. Warm weather brought out lots of mtb riders.

running 10:00 [4]

2 x 5 minutes at an honest effort on the river trail (with one minute of walking/jogging in between). Felt fairly good.

Note

I spent several hours today fieldchecking a sprint map on the KU Campus. It turned out to be a lot more interesting than I expected - I had lots of cartographic decisions to make. I hope I made mostly good decisions. There is still lots of work left.
