Easy jogging to warm up. Most of the time I ran without the active ankle. I put the active ankle on and jogged just a bit to make sure it was on correctly before the race.
orienteering race 57:00 [4] *** ahr:169 14c
Fair Hill red course (M40).
I was very satisfied with this run -- It wasn't especially good physically or technically, but it exceeded my (probably too low?) expectations.
I wore the active ankle and the VJ Sarva Grips.
I thought about my ankle a lot in the first 20 minutes or so, but then felt more comfortable for the rest of the race.
For whatever reason tonight's run felt awful. I stopped a good 30 minutes earlier than planned. One of those days, I guess.
I did the first 20 minutes without the active ankle. With the active ankle I did a few minutes on somewhat rough trails and bumpy grass to see how it would feel and get some confidence.
Another very easy jog around the neighborhood without the active ankle. It was the perfect warm up before watching the first Jayhawk b-ball game of the season.
I jogged around at PNS. I began with 15 minutes of very slow, easy jogging on the smoothest trails but without the active ankle. Then I put on the active ankle and finished the run. I climbed 340 feet.
The temp today his 82. How can it be so warm in November? Bizarre and unpleasant if you ask me.
Trying out a new idea regarding the ankle injury....I jogged a bit around the neighborhood. I jogged slowly on smooth surfaces and didn't make any sudden turns. I didn't wear the active ankle.
Sore and tired. I tested some of Fritz's KS Champs course at SMP and looked around at bits of the map. Ankle was sore, but blisters weren't too bad (wearing the VJ SGs again).
