orienteering 35:00 [4]

First leg of the Crystal Relays for OK. I changed my route to 1 when I saw most of the pack heading toward the hill (wish I'd trusted my first choice). I struggled with the altitude, but had a clean race. The rest of the team (Dick, Peggy and Mook) ran well. I climbed 420 feet.

Race at Happy Jack (red course). I suffered from the altitude. I felt like I ran ok, not great but not terrible. I boomed two controls when I orientered passively. Interesting terrain and a mostly fun course. I climbed 840 feet. After the run I shadowed Stephen K on the white course.

I ran a control picking course at Pelican Bay. Nice area and fun (lots of controls, 32 or 33 if I remember correctly).

Picking up controls at Wyoming. I arrived too late to run a course. It was fun - nice terrain. I climbed 440 feet.

Jogged around on the roads at Wyandotte. The nice weather of the last couple of weeks is coming to an end, so it was tougher than I'd hoped. I climbed 440 feet

running 10:00 [4]

Near the end of the run, I threw in ten minutes at an honest effort. It felt ok, but I had trouble keeping a steady pace. I'd go a bit too hard, then ease off a bit, then go a bit too hard again. That's what happens when it has been a long time with no competitions. I climbed 120 feet (almost all in the first 3 minutes).
