running 1:40:00 [2]

I ran at Weston Bend on the trails. I took it quite easy, but climbed plenty of hills. I climbed 1200 feet.

running 1:15:00 [2]

I got out a bit early today, so I was running in mid/late afternoon. It was warm -- 88 F. I warmed up at PNS, then ran a bit at English Landing, finally returning to PNS. I ran slowly and suffered from the warmth. I climbed 620 feet.

At English Landing -- 5 x 3 minutes at a bit over an honest effort. I walked to recover until my h.r. dropped to 140.

When I got home I drank a bunch of ice water, rested a bit, then rode the trainer for half an hour.

After mowing, I rode the trainer a bit. It didn't feel so good. I think I breathed in a bit of dust or something when I was mowing. I watched the ball game and saw the Royals give up 7 runs in two innings.

I ran at PNS. I wore my new O' shoes to break them in a bit and make sure they didn't cause any blisters. Most of the run was an easy jog with a bit of climbing. I also threw in about 3 minutes at an honest effort. I climbed 1000 feet.

My plan was to mow the lawn when I got home. Instead I rode the trainer in the basement and watched the baseball game on TV.

orienteering 1:20:00 [4]

Second day at W.P. Much nicer running weather meant I felt a lot better. I struggled with running in wet, slippery rocks and fallen trees. My orienteering was still improving, but still leaves room for improvement. The 7th control was misplaced. It sat about 70 meters and 3 lines off. I spent maybe 7-8 minutes before I found it. After the run, I went out to the control with the two course setters and we confirmed it was wrong and exactly where it was. I dont' know if they threw out the course. I climbed 1380 feet. ST=547.
