running 1:15:00 [2]

At PNS on the way home. I went by the Electronic Supply Co. shop and got a new battery for my headlamp for this weekend's night O'. The old battery lasted nearly ten years. I climbed 1320 feet.

running 30:00 [1]

I could do nothing or I could do something easy. I deciddd to ride the trainer enough to break a good sweat.

running 1:00:00 [2]

I ran at PNS on the way home from work. Nice day in a traditional sort of way (warm and sunny, no wind). I didn't see any forest rats. I don't think I've ever gone more than 15 minutes at PNS without seeing some. I climbed 1060 feet.

After dinner I did some time on the trainer. A basketball game was on TV -- IUPUI v. Valpo. I wasn't sure who I should be rooting for until I saw Rex Walters sitting on the Valpo bench. Turns out he's an assistant coach there. Go Valpo. They won and are going to the NCAA tournament.

Note

Day off today. My legs feel fine, but a day off seems like the best thing to do. My hand is sore (fell on it yesterday) and my neck is scratched from some thorns (made it hard to sleep last night).

orienteering 1:00:00 [4]
ahr:165 12c

PTOC meet at Monkey Mountain. I had a nice run -- felt stronger than expected and navigated well. The course was ok and the map (with some major revisions) an improvement. The only negative was that a control was stolen. Dan ran about a minute faster than me (but he knew the control was missing and I spent a couple of minutes mucking around on the hillside). I climbed 840 feet. ST=179.

orienteering 40:00 [2]

I jogged around most of the green course after running the red. The last 15 minutes was tough as my legs felt heavy. I climbed 360 feet. ST=185.
