orienteering 54:00 [5] 7.8 km (6:55 / km)
ahr:168 17c

PTOC red course at Longview. It was fun and I managed to orienteer reasonably well. A few times I ran a bit faster than I should have through some rough stuff (including when I ran face first into an osage orange tree).

running 35:00 [2]

After the red course, I jogged around the orange course. About half way through I got tired (and hungry).

cycling 30:00 [1]

Riding the trainer in the basement was a good way to relax after a long work week (even though it was only four days) and dealing with the strange traffic on the way home. The Paseo Bridge is closed and folks who usually take the Paseo are driving all over the place trying to figure out how to get home. It is enough to drive you crazy.

running 50:00 [2]

Cold out there (3 F when I ran and -8 F when I went to work this morning). I bundled up and shuffled around in the snow.

cycling 30:00 [1]

Another very easy day -- some time on the trainer. I warmed up for it by shovelling snow. Looks like the snow will make tomorrow's commute a real mess (roads will be slick and the Paseo Bridge is probably going to be closed...yuck).

cycling 30:00 [1]

Some cycling on the trainer in the basement. My legs felt quite good.

running 2:40:00 [2]

I ran around at Kill Creek (carrying the map but not reading it very much). There's still a bit of snow left on the trails and in the woods, so it was slippery here and there. I planned to run until (a) I got tired or (b) I'd been out three hours. I went with (a) when my legs ran out of gas at about 2:20...it took about 20 minutes to get back to the car.

orienteering 1:04:06 [5] 7.07 km (9:04 / km)
ahr:168 14c

Second day was much easier. The area wasn't nearly as hilly and we had more chances to run trails. I had a reasonable run - lost some time on a route that looks ok but involved running on a rocky, up-and-down trail that paralleled the river. Ross got me by a bit, but not enough. I beat him over two days by about 40 seconds.
