orienteering 49:00 [5]
ahr:165 9c

PTOC had a meet at Burr Oaks. I found 7 of the 9 markers (though I went to the center of each circle). Snorkel and Platt both found all 9 markers. Mary found 8 of 9. I guess it was fun, but not what you'd hope for. It was a good chance for a hard run. The woods, especially for the first bit of the course, were thick and thorny (even for Kansas City).

running 45:00 [2]

I ran at Parkville NP and did one loop of the east trail at an honest effort (11:24 at an avg h.r. of 162). My time was a bit slow. I think that was partly the conditions. It has been raining for two days and the trail was a bit slick. I walked a bit on the steep down hill section with the switchbacks (slick mud, wet leaves, wet rocks and slick wooden steps). I also took it a bit easy for the first half of the loop.

running 45:00 [2]

I jogged around in the rain at Parkville Nature Preserve.

running 1:00:00 [2]

I pounded the pavement for an hour.

Note

My legs/feet felt a bit beat up from the weekend (mostly Saturday). Dealing with the Parks Department at work doesn't make life any easier. A day off and a nice dinner of spaghetti with Bove's sauce should fix everything.

I ran a short course at Knob Noster.

running 45:00 [2]

I spent about 2:30 mapping at Clinton State Park. I jogged around a bit, too.
