running 1:05:00 [2]

Another Saturday at Weston Bend. The weather was cooler than it has been recently -- right around 80 and cloudy....

running 25:00 [5]

...6 x the hill at Weston Bend. I ran a bit faster than before (cooler weather certainly helped). My times up the hill: 4:26, 4:26, 4:29, 4:20, 4:32, and 4:27.

running 20:00 [2]

Just a short shuffle around the neighborhood (working up an appetite for fish burritos!). Tomorrow, I'll do hills at Weston Bend. Sunday is the OK corn maze O'.

I went out on the bunny loop and did ten at an honest effort. The honest effort wasn't too terrible. It was the best I've run since I got hurt. It was still a lot slower than I was a year ago. Perhaps I was fueled by my anger at the City Aviation Department. They cut down a long tree line on the edge of the bunny loop. The tree line used to offer a good 1/3 mile of shade.

After fixing (I hope) the airconditioner, I shuffled around the neighborhood a while. When I got home, the house was cool!

cycling 55:00 [2]

After Sunday's run, my knee has been stiffening up anytime I sit for more than a couple of minutes. I guess the pounding from running on the road was too much stress. Since my knee wasn't at its best, the responsible thing to do seemed to be a bike ride instead of a run (even though the temp was a relatively cool/comfortable 82). So, I put in some time on the bike (including a couple laps of the bunny loop).

running 1:30:00 [2]

Mean Gene and I ran around Wyandotte. At the end I threw in ten minutes at an honest effort. It was warm and humid and my legs felt yesterday's hills, but overall I guess I felt pretty good. After the run, we ate bagels and studied Gene's maps from Wyoming.
