Note

Mary and I went rug shopping today. It must have been a good workout, because when I got home I was extremly sleepy. While Mary went to Weston Bend for some O' practice, I slept. Not exactly what I'd planned for training today.

Took it easy.

running 50:00 [2]

Ran around the neighborhood a bit. I felt good for about 20 minutes. Then I felt worn out. I planned to bike when I got home (and to run at least an hour), but I'll skip the biking and take it easy.

On the trainer in the basement. I've noticed that my knee has been quite stiff the last two days. I suspect I've been sitting too much. I need to figure out a way to do more standing and walking while I'm working.

Note

I flew home from Phoenix today. Both the conference and my Sonoran Safari went well. I had a window seat on the flight home -- I spent a lot of time looking out the window at the mid-Kansas sand dunes. Some of that must be great for O' (I think it is mostly private property).

running 20:00 [2]

I had a 7:15 breakfast meeting. But, I was wide awake by 6:00. So, I went for a jog. I explored the streets of downtown Phoenix.

running 1:05:00 [2]

I didn't plan to run again today. But, after being in meetings all day (except when I was feeling stressed about my presentation tomorrow) I needed a break. I'm at the ASPA conference. It is strange. I'm a "practitioner" but most of the people here are academics. I sit there listening to people say things like -- "Of course, post 9-11, we've got to be asking ourselves if the humanistic approach to performance measurement, or even performance management, can be reconciled with the new public service models." I needed a break. So, I ddi another run exploring Phoenix.
