orienteering 1:00:00 [5]

I did the PTOC meet at Weston Bend. I ran as hard as I could (which is distressingly slow). The course was mostly interesting. It was hilly (I had about 6 percent climb on my route). One boom -- at the second control -- then got my mind on orienteering and it went pretty well. Dave F. got me by a couple of minutes. ST=191.

running 20:00 [1]

I took a very slow jog. I plan to a good bit of O' this weekend.

running 40:00 [2]

I jogged around a bit. It felt ok, but I really feel slow.

cycling 45:00 [1]

On the trainer. I watched the second half of last weekend's KU-MU game. What a game...Rock Chalk!

cycling 40:00 [1]

My knee was stiff all day and the lower leg swelled (just a bit). That was unexpected. Instead of a planned run, I spent some time on the trainer.

running 20:00 [2]

I was feeling a bit worn. I think it is a combination of staying up a bit late, spending a bunch of time on airplanes and being around cats (allergy problems). So, I just took an easy shuffle around the neighborhood.

running 1:05:00 [2]

I did a trail run at Mount St. Helens. It was very interesting. I ran in an area called Hummocks and then went up a ridge. The Hummocks area was filled with ash and rock knolls separated by small ponds. It reminded me of the old strip mine area north of Columbia, MO (except this was natural). I took a fairly wicked fall on a downhill near the end when I stepped on some loose rock that rolled out from under me. It straightened my knee more than feels comfortable. But, I don't seem to have sufferred any injury.
