running 45:00 [2]

I ran at PNS on the way home. I included 3 x the rocky hill at an honest effort. I was curious to see how my various aches and pains would react to some hard running. I climbed 540 feet.

running 45:00 [2]

I jogged around at PNS. I didn't feel very comfortable because my shoulder/upper chest was sore. I guess I fell on it in Maine then slept on it in some sort of strange way last night. It was sore all day. I climbed 420 feet.

I ran the third leg for OK at the relay champs. I had a clean race and pushed pretty well. The course was fun. As always it is fun to run with the rest of the OKers.

I ran the red course in Maine. I took it a bit easier than a normal race. I was pretty satisfied with how things went.

I ran M40 at the night O' champs at Pineland Farms. I had a reasonable run and won M40 (though I was a couple minutes back of Eddie B. on M35). Night O' is a blast (and NOT a crime).

running 20:00 [2]

Warm up plus picking up controls.

O practice at SMP. Nadim set a course with forking. We did a mass start. Mike S., Gene, Snorkel and I ran the course. It was a lot of fun, despite some short trips in to some thick stuff. Thanks to Nadim for setting up the session.

running 1:35:00 [2]

Snorkel and I did an easy jog at Weston Bend. By the end I was feeling a bit worn.

cycling 30:00 [1]

Some time on the trainer to stretch my legs a bit.

Saturday Sep 18, 2004 #

running 25:00 [2]

Jogging around on PNS trails.

running 15:00 [4]

2 x ~7:30 on trails (with plenty of climb) at PNS. I took a complete rest (8 minutes or so) between hard sections. I ran at a race effort, working on running a steady hard effort -- not so hard that I'd have to slow down to recover. Fun, despite grim humidity.

Friday Sep 17, 2004 #

cycling 30:00 [1]

A little time on the trainer after mowing the lawn.

Wednesday Sep 15, 2004 #

running 20:00 [2]

I shuffled around the neighborhood. My legs felt quite good. I actually did 10x2:11 with no rest.

Tuesday Sep 14, 2004 #

running 50:00 [2]

I ran at PNS. I planned to go up and down the rocky hill until I reached 1400 feet of climb. But I felt pretty lousy. I think I was a bit dehydrated and it was fairly warm. Whatever. I stopped when I hit 1000 feet of climb.

Monday Sep 13, 2004 #

cycling 30:00 [1]

Some time on the trainer. My foot felt pretty good. Maybe the new shoes helped.

Sunday Sep 12, 2004 #

running 1:50:00 [2]

An easy run on the trails at Weston Bend. I ran on the trails and got in plenty of hills. I also did 5x 1 minute of hard downhills. I climbed 1380 feet.

Saturday Sep 11, 2004 #

running 25:00 [2]

Easy jog on trails at PNS. It didn't feel especially good, but it is always nice to be on the trails at PNS. I climbed 200 feet.

Friday Sep 10, 2004 #

cycling 30:00 [1]

My foot was just a bit sore by the time I got home tonight. So I did some easy time on the trainer. I hope it'll be ok tomorrow.

Thursday Sep 9, 2004 #

running 55:00 [3]

Mary and I met Nadim at Wyandotte after work. Mean Gene's absence is excused. I'm not sure about Snorkel's. Nadim and I ran around on the roads for a bit before dinner at Arthur Bryant's. My foot seems to be ok. I climbed 810 feet.

Wednesday Sep 8, 2004 #

cycling 30:00 [1]

I planned to do an easy jog but decided my foot could use an easy day.

Monday Sep 6, 2004 #

orienteering 1:20:00 [2]

A regular O' course. My legs felt tired (and my right foot was sore). For the most part I orienteered well. I struggled on the uphills. Fun.

orienteering 1:10:00 [2]

Control picking course. If I'd counted the controls before the run instead of after I'd have added one more control for an even 50. Lots of fun. I kept the pace low and concentration was pretty good.

orienteering 20:00 [4]
11c

Ran a short course at a race effort. I struggled in the beginning - going a bit faster than I should have and not concentrating so well. After a couple of controls things went well.

Note

Mary and I did a map walk -- 80 minutes of concentrated map reading and a lot of fun.

Saturday Sep 4, 2004 #

orienteering 45:00 [2]

I ran an O' course - easy pace and trying to orienteer cleanly.

orienteering 45:00 [2]
12c

Another O' course at a bit higher effort.

Friday Sep 3, 2004 #

Note

Leaving for HART 2.

Wednesday Sep 1, 2004 #

running 1:05:00 [2]

I ran at PNS on the way home. The idea was to jog around until I reached 1000 feet of climb. It didn't feel very good. I climbed 1020 feet.
