Orienteering (NSW Long Champs) 58:46 [3] 5.3 km (11:05 / km)
weight:90kg shoes: Inov8 opp shop

Did not enter for this event so tried to Enter on the Day. The old hag at the registration tent had no people skills at all and had a go at me for not entering when she saw I was from a club and categorically ruled me out starting before the official starts as I quote `can't mingle with the championship competitors'. Felt like saying should I get up the back of the bus with the other blackfellas' but did not'. Sheesh with people like this the face of orienteering to newcomers no wonder we find it difficult to attract new people to the sport or is this just Newcastle???!!!

As for the orienteering. Big parralel error at 5 which enabled my 4 minute man to catch me.Caught him again before 7 where we met PaulaS (who must have also passed me). PaulaS and I went way too high up to 8 and from there it was 3 of us going around together.

Orienteering (NSW Middle Champs) 53:11 [3] 5.1 km (10:26 / km)
weight:90kg shoes: Inov8 opp shop

Fairly ordinary run. Lost the plot after zooming up the M1 after helping a stranded motorist jump start her car. So was late. Lost time on 4.. just couldn't find the pit. Felt like I couldn't pick my legs up in this terrain and kept falling into bandicoot holes. ended up punching 459 instead of 458 at 9. MP. Spectator control through me out a bit. From their almost outsprinted by Chippy (M70) in the last loop and chicken winged by Paul Prudoe at the finish. Finish woman said You missed punched did you? in the loudest voice possible, Well not in my mind ..no.Had a sleep.
