Orienteering 13:23 [3] 2.1 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X talon blue

Smashed the easy course, but then realised I had taken the wrong map! 935 instead of 955! I may need glasses! Convinced myself all legs were easy on the 9xx series after seeing the young kids smash out some quick times. Went out and did the proper ‘hard’ map but had no legs left. Focussing in all the tracks we created over the hills. Anyway proved the selectors right!

Aim was to not make any major errors. Which I didn’t..and also to beat Blair. Which I didn’t..3mins. Blair needs to drink more beers.

Event: Oceania 2019
 

Orienteering (Oceania Sprint) 26:40 [3] 2.7 km (9:53 / km)

Too bloody slow over the hill. Ran past the control misreading the scale. Fail. Thought the course was unfair for including a massive hill in a sprint favouring the fit people. All round not a great course for a championship event. Started ok but 3 had “on top of” description. All the controls on high bridges. Not fun.
