Feeling tired today
No 1 + 2 up a massive hill and after yesterday I thought "oh no what have I let myself in for" but actually really nice forest very easy under foot.
Again I was really good when I plan properly and concentrate. But I was a bit daft when rushing and not concentrating

Oslo DM relay 1st leg

Set off hard to try get a high position to get dragged along for a few controls. Worked well up until no7 where I felt really tired and struggled to hang on. Cherry was really aggressive here and the group I got with and he just strung it out over the open areas.
Really struggling to concentrate and felt I was just about surviving until going down to no10 when I was thinking about all sorts of stuff apart from orienteering!! Thought I was one valley further so was looking for the control in totally the wrong place, decided to bail out south to the big marsh but ended up looking at some crags and though "No way, I cant be all the way over there" but I was hahah

from here to the finish it felt again that I was just about holding it together but no very forward thinking.

Not great in the begining but started to build confidence after the two easy controls (5 and 6)

More compass needed on the first 3 controls, hesitant and a bit worried not knowing what features will look like.

Hemfosa Long

First race since Jukola and first warm up race towards Autumn season.

Very much a race of two halves

Started off thinking I was on a different path to no1 then a bit stressed thought the next section + loosing time on no4 then massive boom to no7!
Thought I picked a good attackpoint with the white vegitation areas in the middle of the semi open but it was really thick and bushy. The white areas should have been taller mature trees that stand above the semi open but I couldnt see fucking anything! Then a lot of half hearted relocating instead of just heading east find myself and find the control. felt like for most of this half of the race I wasnt sure what I should be thinking about, not concentrating on the right things. Annoying

But the second half (after the road crossing) was really good! basically using the routine I have been working on!

Lessons learnt and planning to change for tomorrow!!

Tuesday tech @ Öran/brink

Skipped the lie courses.

Felt tired to start with but felt better and better though the course.

Per shadowed me around the southern wing of the butterfly. I did pretty good on these controls so he said there wasnt much to pick up on but he noticed Im not checking the map and diection much. I dont know if thats either because I am quit good at planning and remembering or holding my direction? but this terrain was open and could see far but maybe something to think about.

I rushed out of 15 = miss on 16!

Tuesday Tech Training

Still taking it easy and feeling tired so wasnt feeling to up for it until I started running with Per and it gave me a lot more focus.

Mainly pretty good.
- Came out the corridor where I assumed I would be able to see the hill but was a lot greener and hadnt looked at my compass enough
- no10 didnt have a good attackpoint
- lost the line where there was an extra knoll then didnt understand enough surounding terrain

Very slow jog.
Decided to cut it short and only do 30mins but not long after I left louise I realized she had the flat key so slowed down even more and jogged around the football pitches watching a mix tournament until louise finished her run.

Went to meet Egil for a meeting and some training.

We went to area used for the final part of SM long 2015. Really really cool area.
But I was pretty shit on a few controls. I decided on the way to the finish I would ask Egil if he could drop me off later to rerun the course.


Good in when concentrating shite when not.
When I got to no3 it didnt look as I thought so ran away and matched the two areas and thought I was then in the right place so ran off to no4 and thats why I was so bad there! (wasnt concentrating on where I was going, thinking about the mistake that had just happened)
no7- not checking my compass and not making sure I saw what I wanted to! trying to be lucky
no11- Oh dear haha! Just not concentrating!! thought I was left of the line and made a huge parralle mistake trying to make things fit!!!

Decided to run a different course but I orienteers really well on this. A lot more focused and determined to get some revenge.

I think I wasnt planning enough ahead, always ahead of myself but quite often just the feature immediate ahead, would be a bit smoother if I planned the whole leg at a time! But happy with the session

Sommerserien at alby (söders club house).

Started same time as Dima but didn't see him after no3. But I think this helped the focus knowing I had to orienteer well to stay ahead.

Generally I was pretty good. Didnt push physically too hard but felt I couldn't orienteer too much faster at the mo anyway. (Could have run harder on some longer legs when it was simple).
Occasionally something missing in routine. Usually a full plan.

Straight from the summer house to Sumer series's at Granby. Always exciting to get a chance to run in paradiset, however turns out we was in the most southern part of Ågesta. Still good area but not the same.

I thought if I feel good I'll push a bit but didn't feel it after I started, didn't feel bad just didn't want to push.

Made a few mistakes
1x thinking about other things instead of concentrating.
1x not planning well enough
1x set my compass to a power line instead of north line!!

But mostly pretty good. Realized I was looking up enough after a few controls. Also needed a fuller plan
