Academy's end of year fun session in rudan. A score event where not all controls was in the forest in Teams of 5 with only one map and blank paper to draw a map, we just ripped the map and gave everyone a section to get those controls.

Went back to do the näset pick from the other day, I wasnt happy so wanted to re do it better, its been annoying me for a few days. I should have also realised that on big scale mistakes and bad lines look worse.

Ran it backwards this time and it felt loads better, flowing and understanding the terrain. still a couple of controls that could be better but im quite happy because most felt good

Mörtsjön training

Mostly good and happy with the feeling in those parts.
but one parralle mistake, frustating because I knew where I was at the powerline then for started orienteered from the wrong place, thought it was weird but made it fit? maybe I remembered the origanal plan into the control from the other reenterant?

also planned to go stright over the fields but the ditch was wider and wetter than expected so had to go to the bridge.

then fighting concentration though the last 5-6 controls

Better than yeterday.
big path that follows close to the red line on 2nd compass leg that i ran on. not great compass or plan to no2 (rough plan to run on compass than use the spur to the path, a little more plan in the 1st 1/2 of that leg would have been better)

10mila was a big goal, did it then and have been drain physically and mentally, now stressing a bit as Jukola is coming up fast

Old saying from back home "You need t jump up and giv me leg a reet good dother" (translation "You need to get up and give yourself a shake/wake up")

Good to have been getting quite a bit of coaching work to keep myself active without too much struggle

Near the ferry to the summer house. The course I started with cherry on Tuesday but twist my ankle so ran it backwards (ie no18 first). Vegetaion not mapped great, seems like there have been some forestry work since the map has been made, totally felled north west and thinned a lot to the west but it was really fun training and had to focus extra hard on the contours because of the forest

10mila 2nd leg

Willy ran amazing on leg one, came back 8th. I saw him at the first tv control in the top 10 so was able to think about how thing wer going to play out.

I was actually really relaxed. I am feeling very confident in my own orienteering at the mo plus I had imagined it all happening before and i understood if I try to do anything special I would totally ruin everything.
Told the coaches before the start "Willy has done the real work so I just need to not make any mistakes and not loose too much time to the leaders and we would be in a good position".
And I remembered some wise thoughts from scotia "Most people are shite bags and shit it at the relays" basically stay relaxed if you want to run well.

My plan for the race was to relax the first big hill, be safe and find big safe attackpoints. Turns out I lost 20 places on the first hill, loads of really good teams smashing it but knew some would come back later in the course or they wer beyond what we was actually aiming for (OK Södertörn not actually aiming to win 10mila and I was not going to be selfish and risk everything to keep up). But after no2 I pretty much held a good pace to the leading group (actually caught the leading pack up after 70% of the course).

Any way I ran pretty clean and came back 31st with some tv time and comentry talking about OK Södertörn.
Followed Fredrik who ran great too! Our team wasn't expecting to hand over to långnatten in the top 30 and probably the first time this has happened since mid-90s

Disappointed to finish 71st in the end after the dreams was so high After the first few legs, but we learnt a lot at this relay and it's not easy to get 10 guys to all run well on the same day.

Woke up still un sure how I was feeling so decided to skip the long O race (12km + 3km to star and finish) and joined louise who was running a kungsholmen 10km (she wasnt racing). it was nice to chill and enjoy being in the race, we was chatting and watching others run.

she ran to 6km quite chilled (4:50min/km) then sped up for the last for (4:30min/km)

didnt feel too bad when i was running but no feel quite drained, guess its because ive been out in the sun all day for the last few days
