guisbough wood fell race

first fell race for a few years. good fun

didnt bring my fell shoes home from sweden so ran in my orienteering shoes. now minus 8 dobs after the long tarmak decent

not far behind jonny for most but he really put some distence in to me along the moor. but good race with one of the lads from the club.

still not fast enoughon the flat and less steep hills but good on the downs and steep ups

one bloke left the pack after 3k could have gone with him but let him go, because thought we'd catch him before the end. but i could close the gap at the end

after the test on thursday i was told my threshold was slightly high than i though so running this session abit harder from now on, also york is flatter and felt more intesive with no down hill reps

Muscle test, turns out my right leg is still quite alot weeker that my left, sine the injury in nov 2009, so plan to work on than

jog out to orienteering intervals started but not feeling the love so ran back with john and that was nicer, bit of chat and looking at the scenery


really find the snow quite depressing and losing some motivation, not fun orienteering in it and not much better to run in it,

maybe just in the main stick to paths, trails and roads for a while and bang the orienteering back in, in a few months?

fell into a snow covered hole and banged my knee pretty hard on a rock, swell up so, dint fancy the evening run with some of the others

ridiculous weather today

planned session 90min run thought it would be cool/funny doing it in the deep snow and blizzard, i was wrong, it was brutal!!

on the way out i was looking at the cars thinking what they driving for in these shit conditions and the drives looking back at me with a "what the fuck is he doing" look on there faces

on the way back a skier was out, looking at me very strang and said maybe i should have gone out on skis.

knee deep snow, brain freeze, sore legs, icy wind, struggling to breath though buff that was frozen rock hard, ice all ove my face (mainly gathering on my eye brows) - all added up to low moral = very depressing run
