Orienteering race race (Urban series ) 27:42 [5] 4.1 km (6:45 / km)
shoes: Montrails

Urban series #3-Jackal Creek Night O
New tactics to try read the map at night generally worked out-my best night series to date. Still took the long careful routes, and lots of slowing down to read the map. Long safe routes cost me 30 s in total for control 1 &6. #8 got confused by scattered trees in the middle of the fairway which seemed more green, so very hesitant, and then got a bit of a fright seeing the jackal at the control (30 sec). Big mistake at #13 (35 sec) lost my head and poor execution of the route. Lucky to relocate so quickly. #14 (10 sec) trying to settle down again. #15 (43 sec) shortest leg and biggest mistake. Came out to the north of the control, but got confused as to where I was and where to go so ran north to the wrong bushes . Need to be more careful at the end of the race when im tired .Seems I was leading the race before this-1st time in a long while, so ill take it!
