AMT Trainer at Y 30:00 [2]

progressive resistance machines (and stretching) 1:00:00 [2]

treadmill 20:00 [2]

Started off slowly so I wouldn't trigger that awful feeling that I am not getting oxygen to my limbs. Eventually got up to a 9:22 min/mi and then 9 min/mi briefly at the end before cool down. Felt good.

running (run with dog Maggie) 35:00 [2]

First I have to run for a few minutes to warm up enough that I am ready to run with the next-door-neighbor dog (4-year-old Springer Spaniel) Maggie. Then I pick up Maggie at the neighbor's and off we go. She wants to go faster than I can. After about a mile and a half, she gets closer to my pace. How will I ever run in the future with Maggie pulling me?

AMT Trainer at Y 10:00 [3]

I don't know what AMT stands for, but these are new machines by Precor at the Y. I haven't quite gotten the knack of it yet, but I'm working on it. It is a heckuva workout involving both upper and lower extremities (i.e., arms and legs).

bicycling (on a machine at the Y) 10:00 [2]

running (on the track at the Y) 10:00 [2]

I have to run slowly enough so I don't get that yuck feeling.

running 30:00 [1]

Warm but very windy today. I ran down at the Arch. Crossing the street going back to my car, I was standing with a couple of British (from Birmingham, England) tourists waiting for the light. I got talking with them, and they were trying to get a taxi cab to Washington University where they were staying. So I offered, if they didn't mind walking five blocks to my van, I would give them a lift if they wanted. So that's what we did. I pointed out a few of the sights on the way.

running 50:00 [1]

Temperature in the 50s F today so I ran 50 minutes in Forest Park in St. Louis, MO. I am back to logging my exercise. When I was on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands I was crazy busy with school. But I usually ran 25-50 minutes once a week. I often ran along the harbor to Yacht Haven Grande and/or Havensight. The neighborhood dog whom I called "Lady" accompanied me on my runs along the harbor. She even waited for me when this old lady was too slow. Once I ran to and then around the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. It would make an awesome place for a Park O' or a killer Sprint O'. St. Thomas is mountainous.

Anyway, I am back home in St. Louis and running here. I ran a 4-mile and a 3-mile event in the St. Louis Track Club Frostbite Series. I cross-country skied in Tower Grove Park on Friday, February 8, when we had our 8-inch snowfall. Lovely. Last weekend I did 30 minutes on the Arc Trainer at the YMCA.
