Practice sprint course at AVC. I used an old map which meant I didn't always have the best route choice around the newer buildings.

Brown course at BAOC Burton Creek event. Day 2 of NAOC practice weekend. Today I did Brown to get a distance a little bit more like middle. The course was nice for this too as it consisted of a few long legs with areas of short, more technical legs. Good practice in compass and pace as well. No big problems on the course. I overshot number 5 because I was looking for the small clearing mapped there, but came back quickly. Also was a little too far west at number 10 and looked at the wrong boulders, but then figured out which ones they were and continued on to the control.

The most lost I've been in quite a few years. I made a 30 minute error on number 5 and for a good portion of the leg really wasn't sure of where I was. Considered DNF'ing a few times, but I soldiered on and eventually successfully relocated and then kept going.

This is my practice weekend for NAOC. Today I did the Green course because it was the shortest course that was longer than my Long will be at NAOC. Quite a workout. Especially when you consider the additional climb I put in finding number 5.

The rest of the course went fine.

HDR interval workout. Alan was in charge tonight. We did some strides, followed by a mile of 300 hard/ 100 easy. Then a mile of 200 hard/200 easy. Then a mile of 100 hard/100easy.
