Planning courses at Topanga State Park for our Teams Fundraiser Day. It will be May 6th, since I'm too busy in April and I'm the only club member on a team. Setting a 10 control Trail-O and a 14 control sprint course and one of those fast-punching string-O things.

Orienteering (Sprint) 34:31 intensity: (20 @0) + (13 @1) + (3:28 @2) + (13:52 @3) + (16:38 @4) ** 3.52 km (9:48 / km) +41m 9:15 / km

Sprint Training course on the UCLA campus. This was a lot of fun. We don't have an O-map but used a campus map. Made it a little difficult as it wasn't always clear what level you might need to be on and where to find stairs. What a cool campus. This would make a great map if we could ever get permission to use it (will only happen if we hook up with a student group).

Orienteering 44:33 intensity: (34 @1) + (41 @2) + (22:09 @3) + (21:09 @4) 4.17 km (10:41 / km) +52m 10:04 / km
ahr:155 max:170 shoes: Barefoot

Second Training course at UCLA. I was cleaner on this one since I now had a better idea how to find the little flags Allen put out and was a little more in tune with the map, etc. But also slower on this one - wish I'd put on shoes this time. Barefooting was nice earlier, but by this time the pavement was getting hotter and this course had more rough stuff to go through. Definitely would have been faster in shoes.
