Event: West Point A-Meet
Orienteering race (Trails) 40:02 [4] * 3.7 km (10:49 / km) +175m 8:45 / km
SDO San Dieguito Meet. Just a little local meet, but Harvey I took it as an opportunity for a getaway weekend in San Diego. The map was very small and the course was all trail running, but extremely well set. Lots of great route choices to think about and a few very dense trail areas to get lost in. From comparing splits, I've determined that I made just about every wrong route choice possible. They seemed so good at the time.
After the meet we were invited to visit a little bit with Donna and Edwin Gookin at their condo near the beach. Went for lunch and a little beach walk. On Sunday we took in the San Diego Maritime Museum. Saw a couple of old square riggers, a Soviet submarine, a ferry boat and took a little harbor cruise. It was fun. Also had a great lunch in "Little Italy".
