Orienteering race 40:00 [4]

Comeback 4.3

British relay champs, holmbury hill. Saved my legs for the team by not running Classic the day before (Good Move). Saved my legs for the team by not really running for 5 weeks beforehand (Bad Move).

As usual Jez and Tim had good runs and as usual I started with Bristol (Mark Bown) again. First half was a bit more technical so coupled with my fresh legs and his tired ones we cruised around there quite nicely. I felt like I only had one lung and half a heart. Second half longer legs and I had nothing for the hills and was squealing a bit even though we weren't exactly flying. Tried hanging on to Mark with the benefit of not reading the map so much and cutting corners but came unravilled on the last loop when I started reading the wrong leg. Didn't stop straight away as compass direction was okay...but 20 seconds quickly balloon to 40 as Mark got away. From there I fell out the arse end.

Enjoyed running against my nemisis...just didnt enjoy getting beat by him again. Seriously time to get fit.
