Basketball 1:15:00 [5]

First league game, lit it up. 30+ points, 15+ rebounds and 100% from the free throw line...was feeling it. Only sat for the last 3 minutes as we were up 25 points.

This was one of the harder nav's I have encountered. Mostly due to the inclement weather and the fact that 2/3 of our time was in the dark. Our lights in the rain/fog did very little but light up the clouds that were within 1 meter of your face. We hit some CP's right on, but had a tough time with some as well.

We chose to start with the south side that we thought might be a bit more challenging and then planned to head to the north section. I think this might have been a bad choice. There were a higher concentration of CP's on the North side (on roads) and more cp's on the south side seemed to be spread out.

We spent 1 hour looking for a CP on the south side of a lake (bushwhacked to it from the north side CP) and threw in the towel when we were within 10 meters of it. We returned to it in the morning with light and from an alternate attackpoint and found it much easier. tough love.

We also got turned around on the most SE CP on a ridge. Totally socked in and raining sideways for about an hour the team was falling asleep and doing circles...love it. Worked our way to it (by heading east to the ridge and south), and it looked like it was next to a bomb crater? Would like to see it in the daylight, at night in the fog I was convinced it was a bomb crater....glenn?

We got to the monster bushwack under the power lines to get to the N section at 7 and realised we were low on time and that the cost benefit for crossing the river would be no good.

Overall, awesome course and very challenging. We loved it and it was nice to be back in the gruesome pacific NW weather. Congrats to mergeo for running a solid race and crushing the rogaine, you guys deserve the Victory.

Can I start eating ice cream and drinking beer yet.?.?

Kayaking race 2:45:00 [4] 16.0 mi (10:19 / mi)

Killer paddle on Lake Cushman. Rinn was falling asleep 2 hours into the race, not a good sign.

The lake and surrounding areas were beautiful and the water was glassy for the most part. A bit of a headwind from 2 to 3 but nothing material.

Mt Biking race 14:50:00 [4] 69.0 mi (12:54 / mi) +10764ft 11:14 / mi
shoes: Sidi Dominator

Estimating distance and climb. My magnet fell off somwhere while carrying my bike through the bush.

3 nav errors on bike... we got a bit too excited sometimes and moved to fast. We arrived at B7 and thought for sure it was a short course CP as it was 2-2.5 k before where we had plotted it. We rode an additional 3+k out and then back to get the same CP. If we had pulled our heads out of our asses and seen the flagging there it would not have been an issue for us. I think we must have mis plotted too. Small nav error after b8 that had us do a 150 ft (.5K) climb through thick bush with our bikes to the road...and lastly was B13 where we blasted past the hidden road we were looking for and climbed back up to get it (6k in total). This was a tough one, we climbed past the hidden road to the next over grown road and spent 20 minutes there before we came back down and found it just in time for mergeo to see what we were doing. you guys still owe us a beer for this one ;-) Overall we loved the bike and climbing! Up down up down in killer mountains, pretty sweet.
