Orienteering race 27:42 [4] 3.4 km (8:09 / km)
shoes: Vasque Grand Traverse

Afterwork "sprint" Scots College. Officially, no result, stick didn't work in 2 controls (besides the one they told us about) and I'm suspicious there's a virus at work. But if I had been official I may have had to dob myself in for using a gap with an impassable wall drawn in it. .The gap did NOT have a wall, tho I can see why passage may not have been desired, there was various gardening apparatus around. However the purple line, while not actually covering the wall symbol, was contiguous with it, and my brain only showed me the purple line. Which, when its near other dark colours, looks black. The much-vaunted "transparency" principle. It's been discredited in the 2018 ISOM amendments, hasn't it? Apart from these hiccups, not a bad run, but am slowing out of the middle of the field results I used to enjoy. Perhaps I used the "simple round the outside" routes a bit much, compared to the "complex zigzag thru the middle" ones. Lesson as always - ignore the word "sprint" and go slower. BTW distance is probably beeline.
