Pedal Power. First ride for ~6 weeks. Dropped on the second climb at the Corin Forest turn off. Bailed on the longer option (Uriarra) and came back via Weston Park/Duffy.

University of Canberra, Orange 1. One big error - failed to see the contours in the bush and didn’t read description (end of spur). Lost a minute which is a bit disappointing. Running ok, but R knee sore again after- hope it’s not a new injury.
Also disappointed to read about the new heatwave in Europe as we got there just after the last one, so no heatwave for us.

Core Stability (Pilates ) 40:00 [3]

Annoying pain in R knee after yesterday- different to before, low down on the outside. Bee stings finally not that itchy, and visible as sting points.

North Lyneham. Bad directions / map reading. Lost time at 1 (Compass way off to the left -20s), 2 (distracted -10s), 3 (bad direction to right -15s), 4 (no clue -1:45), 10 (bad direction to left -1m) and 11 (overshot -15s). So lost 3:45 in mistakes, but a long way behind Paul (21 mins). Jetlag? Felt all right running.

Kilmashogue. Run back from geocache. Too bad I didn't turn the GPS on for the first bit - didn't expect it would be so epic.

Kilmashogue. Quest for a geocache that turned foul pretty quickly. Road blocked way before I expected so faced with a 1.5km straight line over Kilmashogue hill. Started up and it wasn't long before it started raining. Saw a cute mouse on the side of the road on the way up. No obvious way into the geocache so took a path into a quarry of sorts. Climbed up the steep bank (barely) and headed into what would be familiar to most Irish orienteers as fight - young pines, not thinned with gorse and briars in any open patch. Crawled through on hands and knees for 150m. Finally got to the geocache and the clue was "Christmas Tree" - of which we had just crawled under about 10,000. Got the right one eventually but not after being stung by a bee - that still hurts 24 hours later.
