Teering race (Aus Champs) 47:09 [5] ***** 5.65 km (8:21 / km) +218m 7:00 / km

The Gib, Relays, M55, 2nd. Third second place from 4 races in the carnival. Usually I either get injured during the carnival or make an injury worse such that I can barely jog in the relays. This time was different; I did bring an injury in, one that had stopped me doing any running for six weeks prior. But this time it actually got better and I could run OK in the Relays and after wards.
However, this wasn't a great run. Did OK on the fine navigation but mucked up the two long leg route choices. The first leg was one of the best set legs I've been on - three different controls at the end made the choices (left, straight, right and variations between) better for one control or the other which meant that the mass start divided into three streams straight away and the 2nd leg (which I was) and 3rd leg runners were none the wiser.
I chose straight and did not execute it well, losing at least two minutes by winding my way on top of the ridge.
Then again on the next long leg I lost my place and had to climb to the top to work out where I was - another minute or so gone there.
