Hunts Creek, Carlingford. 450 pts, poor run. Set off in hot conditions at 5pm - 35 degrees. It cooled down a bit but humidity rose and I was feeling it in the last half. Lost 1:30 climbing a locked gate after 2 controls - it was open before and later on when it was reported - overzealous security operative? Struggled around but lost 2 minutes unnecessarily when I found an unmapped track (why do I get derailed by these things?) and then lost another 2 minutes leaving the track 10m early and not seeing the monster pylon the control was on. So I should have been back early rather than 4 minutes late (-40 pts). A mad final sprint saw me get in with one second to spare or it would have been another 10 point penalty. Lost to Steve Flick - 460 pts and tied with Gordon Wilson who did a completely different rabbits ears shaped course.

Manly Dam. Lacklustre 15th of 64. Went in too early for #2 and lost a minute and a lot of motivation. Further mistakes at #6 (wrong rocks again), #7 (wrong side of track!) and #12 (where did the track go?) cost a further 2 minutes. Generally not running with any spark. But good to be able to do it at all - that makes 6 running days in a week and its a long time since I've done that.
