Teering race (Mt Obs south) 33:57 [4] *** 4.85 km (7:00 / km) +100m 6:21 / km
spiked:7/9c (injured) shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw 270

Relays - 2nd leg - 15th, team dropped 6 places to 9th. Straight line was 3.4km / 65m. Actually running OK despite lack of any training to speak of and the sore rib. However got caught out on a boulder at no. 2 and lost 6 minutes, found a few other controls which helped. Failed to get the right direction from my massive attack point, and failed to precisely locate where I was on the AP anyway. Then dropped 2 contours on the contouring approach to 4 and missed the area entirely. Lost 3.5 mins relocating.

Relays - 4th leg - straight line 3.4km / 60m. Pulled up two places to 7th. Slower running, back/rib was sore in this one. Missed the easiest control on the course by 20m - no. 6 - and failed to relocate quickly despite seeing a really obvious boulder in yellow - lost 2 minutes.

Overall very enjoyable outing; excellent courses made good use of a very pleasant area.

Physio spent some time diagnosing - its bruised rib not kidney. and the wound is infected. Great. Lucky I'm still on the antiobiotics for the cold.
