Training Log Archive: O-ing

Gardiners Gap. Tired and walked up hills. Missed no. 5. Cath had 4 better route choices where she went over and I went around. Caught and passed by Anna and Clinton, lost by 3:50. Leading overall.
Skipped Day 5, ended up 2nd overall.

Mona Vale with the Pinkers

Newnes. Caught and passed Hugh Moore and Nick Dent before 1, but then struggled to keep up in the subtle, brushy terrain. Careful. Couldn't get past Moore to last.

Long Swamp. Mass start. Terrible to 1, got on back of large pack. Slow up hill to 2 and 5. Nearly took lead at 4, but went too low. Hung back after that, pack overshot 8 so I caught up again. Outpaced on next leg, and was 7th just ahead of Melissa Thomas on the big hill. Hit front at the top but missed to the west, 4th into 9. Back to 2nd even after head first fall near 10. Launched sprint on downhill, but passed by Anna Danielsson. Then she missed 12 and I won from Simon Goddard and Jo Allison. Cath slow to 1, never in the pack after that.

Falnash. 3rd by 12 secs to Simon Goddard. Lost sprint finish to Clinton Russell, wrong finish chute (they had two?). Passed Marcus Pinker somewhere. Cath ran well.

East Maitland golf course, pretty hot.
