Note

Iced L calf, shin. Latter sore to touch. Road running aggravating left leg injury probably. To swim Monday, grass Tue/Wed, go and see Joe Doran

400m in 60 secs. Time trial for Eddies 1000m. Tried to do fartlek but L calf at me, packed it in. Iced pm.

Slow, tired, lethargic. Meant to do 19km but lower legs, esp. L sore. Too soon after getting up.

300m x 8 in sets of two, 30 secs/4 min recovery. Average 45. Under pressure, lower legs sore, generally tired.

Running 1:13:00 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (53:00 @4) 16.0 km (4:34 / km)

(14km in 53 mins). Noticeably slower than last week. Only real problem is soreness in lower legs. A little W. HR 140 at 45 secs after run.

Tuesday Jan 8, 1985 #

Running intervals 29:00 intensity: (25:00 @3) + (4:00 @5) 5.0 km (5:48 / km)

400m x 4, 30 sec recovery. 60, 61, 67, 73. Eddie on 61. I tied up at 200m in the third. Came through a bit in the 4th. Legs just wouldn't go.

Monday Jan 7, 1985 #

Running 38:30 [4] 10.0 km (3:51 / km)

Late, not really tired physically. Back and L Calf fine. Running quite well. Pulse dropped to 140 after last mile of 6:30.
