National Road Relays. 6th team. Robin handed over to me in the lead after two legs (Donal Hurley first leg). Gerry Brady passed me on the 3rd of 4 laps. Form good over the first mile but deteriorated. Unable to go with Brady, should have been able to. Bollixed at end, mouth dry, head gone etc. Took phyllo am, possibly not a good idea. Felt on edge, very "light" beforehand.

Harry McDermott won again, I was 2nd. Barry got 82.8 - 27.6, 27, 28.2. I was in third with 450m to go. Went past K McDunphy at 200 but couldn't get up to Harry. Dave Kenny came up to get 3rd in 83.6.

Sorrell Hill. Ran hard up some of the hills. Aware of back. Legs really felt the strain, even on the first hill - "tired feeling".

InterVarsity XC. Ran well for about 40th overall - 6th on 3rd place team - first cross country medal ever. Felt strong but unable to really let go. Breathing somewhat restricted.

Woodlawn. Connacht Champs. Second by 6 seconds to Peter Kernan. Running OK, O well. Ran out of energy at no. 18 (60 minutes in). Survived quite well, lost control of balance etc. Weights possibly helped keep going after I hit the wall.

Portumna. Connacht Champs, Relays. 1st by two minutes, anchored team to victory. Running a bit ragged, O the same. POB finished first leg 1:20 down on JMcC, then PK got us a two minute lead by overtaking Barry Dalby. I extended that by another two minutes over Justin.
