Running 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks

Usual Bois Chexbres route ran just before dinner. Felt slow & sluggish. Perhaps cold took a bit more out of me than I thought.

Returned home to find Heather & Darrell asleep on the bed, both worn out... Honestly, I ask you!

Running 54:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks

Road route Chardonne - Jongny - Mt pelerin - chardonne. Avoided the vineyards as they were spraying them by helicopter and decided a dose of pesticides was not a good idea.

Ran virtually all the uphill apart from one steep bit near la Baume. Better than last time and felt stronger on the flats as well.

Cycling 40:00 [3]
shoes: mtb & trailer

Back up from Chardonne with H in trailer.

Running 1:17:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks

Club run. Ridiculously hot today - still 29 degrees at 6.15pm. Thankfully Erhard found a route which stayed almost entirely in the shade of the forest so it was bearable, possibly even enjoyable. Legs felt very tired though after the weekend and I struggled after the first 45 mins. As I didn't seem to have run that much on Sat and Sun I thought I'd be OK, but obviously not.

Couldn't manage the reps - no higher gear tonight.

Orienteering race 1:31:00 [5] 5.7 km (15:58 / km)
(sick) shoes: Jalas Blacks (new)

Another day in the Jura, another migraine. Again, unable to eat or drink properly but I did start to recover sooner so I felt much better when starting than I had on Sat.

This was the other side of the road to yesterday, and was meant to be even tougher. I certainly made more mistakes... Starting with a 7 min error on the way to no 1! In my defence, I swear the start flag was in the wrong place, but even so I don't know how I managed to make such a mess of it... Then slow to no 2, as it knocked my confidence. After that, much better, and some good splits in the middle of the race. Then a big miss at 12 and also 14 so not so good at the end.

Enjoyed the weekend - the terrain in the Jura is fantastic. Very technical, quite tough underfoot (rocks, moderate brashings etc) and a real challenge.
