6.15pm: FVO Wednesday Evening Event - Doune Woods. 4.5 km
A hot sunny evening, but a really fun event making use of a small area. The first half was a 14 control Norwegian Master Map format which was great to test ones map memory skills. Interestingly, it was remembering the actual feature that was my issue. I did have one control 3/4 way round when I went down wrong path and had to go back the control to reregister the route.
The second half I took part in a research project from a Glasgow Univ student testing different map symbol graphics. In my case the typical white was light green, paths a gray and buildings brown. As a lot of the course was more trail running, I didn’t have any issue with the light green as opposed to the white. The use of gray for the small trails on the light green was hard to read, and the brown building symbol was effectively unreadable.
A fun evening, topped off with a sto for food at the cross Keys in Kippen and a beautiful evening drive back to Glasgow.

10.30am: Carol and I rented bikes in Copenhagen from near Annette and Dan’s into town and around the waterfront. Cycled over the serpentine bike bridge designed by Dan’s office. Fun time.
