Orienteering 1:30:00 [2] *** 12.0 km (7:30 / km) +400m 6:26 / km
shoes: Jalas Black

After a night of boogie fun, beer races where kenneth, myself, charlie, martin, lesley, kim, buzz and ricky did SPOOK proud. Dancing to the early hours and 3 hrs sleep. Hanging, laughing and collecting at the BUSA relays. Watching the 1st leg men going through number 6 was well funny. All went pretty well except for Oleg buggering his ankle and OJ shooting off too early at the end.... One girl was pissed off (or her university was) but then she had been 90mins just getting to half way. At the oringen you have to get "all the way in 90mins" or you get timed out. Sorry luv.

Event: BUSA

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [5] **** 10.0 km (6:00 / km) +350m 5:06 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14_2008

Stanton moor BUSA individual. Had a poor start loosing probably a minute on the first couple of controls. Things then really came together and I felt strong running and took relatively safe routes throughout. I really slowed for the butterflies, and this paid off as it looks like this is where the race was won. Thank goodness for the burnt patches and the silver birch woodland on the moor -it would have been proper tough without them.

Still to put the official stamp on the map -think it may achieve the distinction grade, but who knows with a few hours of studying we might find enough errors to drop it to a merit...

Running warm up/down 25:00 [1] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Jalas Black

To and from the start/finish and a couple of laps of the field with Hector and Doug.

Tried hard going up less so going down. 8 long hills.

Mmmm bouncy new shoes. Pretty tempo home via bents green, tom lane, crosspool, bolehill and hillsborough. Toe pretty sore -probably due to brand new shoes which are all padded out and not shaped yet...
