South Cheshire 20, =6th place.

Initial race plan was 10 miles @ 6.30, 5 miles @ 6.15 then 5 miles @ 6.00. As usual in a race situation, I went off too fast but it felt nice and comfortable. Was running at 6.25 pace and got caught by a guy from Bedford at around 8 miles. We started chatting and running together. Pushing up the three steepish hills at 9, 10 and 11 miles helped us catch and pass a couple of runners. We were gradually speeding up without noticing it, and quickly caught and passed another runner at 17 miles. Made the call at 19 miles to cross the line together.

Tiring by the end, but not slowing, could have kept going a bit further. Good confidence booster, still work to be done, but seem to be heading in the right direction.
