Running race 34:39 [5] 6.2 mi (5:35 / mi)

Heading in the right direction, and a big improvement on Leeds. Felt the hip flexor pain coming on around 6k but was able to manage it by over-exaggerating my leg movements. It came on again around 9k, and this time it was more painful and made me lose my breath, but I didn't need to stop. Out in 17.31, back in 17.08.
The start was a bit of a farce. We got there to be told that because of flooding on the course, the start was delayed by 30 minutes. So we went into the marquee to keep warm with the intention of warming up at 9.45. Then an announcement was made at 9.45 that the race would be starting in 5 minutes, so a bit of panic ensued to get ready and make it to the start in time.
It turns out that the organiser had delayed the start until 10 without asking the police. When the police heard about the delay, they said that if the race hadn't started before 10 they would be re-opening the roads. Cue the rush to get the race under way.

From home to Rob's, Rob's to the race, a jog along a bit of the course to warm down and then back to Rob's.
