Down in Berry today for Lars and Anna's wedding so didn't have much time for a run.

Orienteering 55:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:07 / km) +330m 5:10 / km

Another hot day so thought I'd make use of the shade in Isaacs and do a few downhill control picks with solid climbs in between. Was alright.

Running 38:00 [4] 10.0 km (3:48 / km) +30m 3:45 / km

Spent the morning exploring some caves at Fitzpatrick Trailhead. Awesome fun - a rope made the entry ok and then huge caverns to just wander about underneath. Drove home via lunch in Yass. Then did a run from home to Snappers for fish and chips. Thought I'd make it count since my legs were feeling a bit better, so did a tempo effort most of the way.

Running 46:00 [3] 9.7 km (4:45 / km) +90m 4:32 / km

Morning bushwalk over the ridge that I did a couple of days ago. Then went for a run during the after-lunch nap session. Hot and humid again, and I needed to avoid hills today. So found a loop on roads along the valley that included wading the river and a quick dash across a farmer's field. Legs very heavy but able to keep a decent shuffle going. Then went swimming in the river.

Morning out bushwalking at Micalong Swamp. After kiddy naps everyone went swimming in the river, so I took that as a chance to nip out for a run up Mount Wee Jasper. Misjudged it a bit though - despite the cloudy weather, it was still 32 degrees, very still and very very humid. The track was steep and very quickly I was sweating buckets and regretting having no water. Pushed on though and got up to some beautiful bush higher up. Reduced to a walk on the final bit but glad to make it (about 800m ascent). Very tired on the descent, which I took a shorter route on and sat in a creek at the bottom for a bit. 2km along the road at the end was too much for me so I walked and fortunately got rescued by Jasmine and Craig who happened to drive past at just the right moment.

Having three days away in Wee Jasper with the Elson clan. Lovely spot. After checking in, Grace did a run while Florence and I splashed about in a creek (it was very hot). Then I did a run from Fitzpatrick Trailhead, along the Hume Hovell Track over the ridge to Wee Jasper, and back to our cottage along the road. First bit was quite thistly, but then had a cracking single-track climb (200m in 1km) before a fun descent. Felt ok.

Morning out at Tidbinbilla so did a longish run up to Gibraltar Rocks and along the fire trails on the other side of the ridge to Devils Gap. Found they'd made a new short loop walk from there so did that first before running down the fire trail. Some looping around to make it up to nearly 90mins. Felt very heavy-legged on the ups and a slightly tickly throat. Great run though.
