Running (Twilight 3.5hr rogaine) 2:22:00 [3] 23.9 km (5:56 / km)

From Macquarie, with Tomas, came 2nd (but officially 3rd). Good fun rogaine around the streets of Belconnen and bits of bush in Mt Painter, Aranda and Blackie. Picked the same route early on as Marty/Mark and Jase/Grant/Devil but we went separate ways once we got into Blackie. Eventually popped out on the underpass back to Aranda to see Marty/Mark about 1min ahead up the slope. I'd been going alright through Blackie, esp. on the hills, but Tomas found another gear on the last ~5km through the streets so was dragging me along to the finish. Ended up about 3mins back on Marty/Mark (plus 50 points because Mark's a novice...). Happy with that effort though - the first 1.5hrs felt pretty easy (maybe because we were pacing it for a 3hr+ run?) and I don't need to run longer than that very often. Tomas and I were well matched I think, both having good patches at different times.

Steady lunch run with Tomas. Got a bit carried away talking about tomorrow's rogaine and didn't notice that I almost stood on a snake. Let Tomas go first after that.

Orienteering race 23:52 [5] 6.0 km (3:59 / km)

Twilight series race on Campbell Kraplands - don't really know why this is a map let alone why it's used every year but it's always good to do a tempo street run with a map so not complaining. Pushed hard from the off - got tough going from #4 onwards once the lactate started kicking in. Bit of a miss on #5 was annoying.

Running 18:00 [3] 4.8 km (3:45 / km)

6x3mins on very greasy paths around Narrabundah and the wetlands. Felt alright though and had to work a bit harder because of the slipperiness.

Running 21:00 [3] 4.2 km (5:00 / km)

1min recoveries plus a bit before and after.
