Running (Metrogaine) 2:15:00 [3] 24.0 km (5:38 / km)
(injured)

6hr rogaine around our part of Canberra which I was really looking forward to. A very wet and drizzly day. Robw, lazydave and I all took quite different routes so I was on my own straight away. Did some urban controls first before venturing up onto Isaacs Ridge. Unfortunately I slipped and tweaked my ankle up there though. I was able to hobble on for a while, hoping to just run it off, but it was continuing to niggle at me, in particular on the flats/downhills. With something like 20km still to go, getting cold from the rain, and being about 2km from home, I made the very logical decision of going home for a cuppa and a shower. A couple of hours later I had to walk back to the hash house to get the car though. Rob cleared the course in 4.50hrs - looked like he was running very well. Shame, but at least I still got a long run out of it, and I enjoyed the bit I did. Felt pretty good too - keen for some more longer runs now.

Nice afternoon run around and up Mt Taylor - I could get used to paternity leave. Felt alright but 6hrs on Sunday could be a tall order.
